The object of reseach -vertebrate hepatocytes and cardiomyocytes, trophoblast cells, human and animal cell lines. Novel data were obtained in the lab on the growth mechanisms of the normal and pathologically modified liver; mechanisms of polyploidization of hepatocytes, cardiomyocytes and trophoblasts; glycogen metabolism and structure in normal and pathologically modified human and animal liver; and mechanisms of cell cycle regulation and progenitor cell differentiation into mature endodermal cells. |

Research interests: Current methods of cellular and molecular biology, biochemistry, polarography and cytogenetics are employed in the lab. Methods of analytical microscopy, such as absorption cytophotometry, cytofluorimetry, microinterferometry, confocal microscopy, image analysis and others are also widely used in the lab. The main focus of investigation is the study of the kinetics and morpho-functional changes in the cells during development and regeneration of normal and pathologically modified mammalian organs.
