    AIMS and CONSTITUTION

    The Cell Cultures Association (CCA) was founded in 1991.

    The goal of the foundation and the main tasks of activity of the CCA are:

  • unification and defense of rights of researchers dealing with studies and application of cell cultures;
  • assistance in development of theoretical and applied studies on cell cultures;
  • assistance in maintaining and development of the Russian Cell Culture Collection that collects, characterizes, and stores standard cell lines and provides with samples of these lines the country research institutions as well as biomedical industry;
  • consultative help, assistance in training of researchers in the field of culturing human, animal and plant cells;
  • assistance in development and improvement of scientific and educational programs, application and use in Russia of the world experience in culturing and use of human, animal, and plant cells;
  • unification and coordination of scientists' efforts promoting appearance of new areas for application of cell cultures in cell biology and biotechnology, medicine, and agriculture to maximally exploit the potential of cell cultures, development of methods of cell culturing;
  • assistance in efforts of the CCA members in characterization of cell lines, chromosomal analysis, determination of contaminations of cell cultures, biological testing of devices, materials, reagents;
  • development of international cooperation in the field of science and education.

    MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

    Members of the CCA can be researchers - both citizens of the Russian Federation and foreigners who reach 18 years, share goals and tasks of the CCA, accept the Rules of the CCA, and participate in its activity.
    Acceptance of members to the CCA is performed by the Board on the basis of the personal request.
    The application with request for acceptance to the CCA membership is addressed to the President, Dr. Galina Poljanskaya. The application is added with the form filled in Russian and English as well as with a copy of the postal money order of the membership fee (for non-residents of St. Petersburg).

      The form is to indicate:
    • the last name, the first name, the middle name (patronymic) (completely);
    • the scientific degree and title;
    • the position;
    • the business and home addresses (with zip codes);
    • the telephone numbers - business and home;
    • the fax number;
    • the e-mail address;
    • the field of scientific interests (key words).

    The annual membership fees for the CCA - 50 rubles, for student - 30 rubles.

    PUBLICATIONS

    The Cell Cultures Association and Institute of Cytology of the Russian Academy of Sciences (St. Petersburg) publish annually:

    Editor-in-Chief: M.S. Bogdanova; Editorial Board: G.G. Poljanskaya, M.I. Blinova, A.M. Koltsova.

    The Bulletin publishes information on the main directions of studies on cell cultures, on activity of the CCA and the Russian Brunch of the ETCS, of scientific meetings, conferences, new materials and equipment for cell cultivation.
